Warrnambool Line fully reserved seating trial
Published: Fri 6 Dec 2024
From Friday 6 December, Warrnambool Line services will have reservation-only seating.
From Friday 6 December, services on the Warrnambool Line will feature reservation-only seating, as part of a trial aimed to give passengers more certainty on seat availability and support the increasing popularity of the line.
Under reservation-only seating, all seats are available for passengers to reserve prior to travelling. If all seats are booked, passengers can purchase an unreserved ticket, which may require them to stand for all or part of their journey.
Fully reserved seating will apply to Warrnambool Line services operated by both VLocity and classic fleet trains.
Warrnambool Line passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and reserve a seat online, at a staffed V/Line or premium Metro station, by calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent.
Receiving a ticket is now easier than ever, with passengers given the option to have their ticket delivered as an eTicket, while the option of purchasing a paper ticket also remains available.
Passengers with mobility aids also now have the option to reserve a space for their mobility aid during the booking process.
V/Line will closely monitor this trial, which will run until the end of February.
