Coaches replace evening trains on the Bendigo Line

Bendigo line

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Bendigo Line for the entire journey from Sunday 19 April to Wednesday 22 April.

Sunday 19 April

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Bendigo for the entire journey.
 
From Bendigo:
From 7.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.
 
Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 April

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Bendigo/Epsom/Eaglehawk for the entire journey.

From Bendigo:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

From Epsom:
The 7.55pm Epsom to Southern Cross service will run as a train to Bendigo, and coaches from Bendigo to Southern Cross.

Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

Bridge maintenance works in Pyramid Hill

V/Line is carrying out bridge maintenance works in Pyramid Hill from Tuesday 24 March to Friday 3 April.

Works include sleeper replacements and ballast renewal and will take place each night between 9pm and 6am.

Due to the nature of these works, there will be construction noise, additional lighting and dust present at times.

Bridge maintenance works in Kerang

7 Apr - 17 Apr 2026

V/Line is carrying out bridge maintenance works in Kerang from Tuesday 7 April to Friday 17 April.

Coaches replace Geelong Line trains for part of the journey

11 Apr - 24 Apr 2026

Geelong line

Maintenance and upgrade works will take place along the Geelong Line from Saturday 11 April to Friday 24 April.

During this time coaches will replace trains between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds. Trains will run between Wyndham Vale and Southern Cross.


Changes to night services - Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 April

From 8.30pm to last service each night - coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds.

Passengers should allow extra time for the journey as there may be delays when transferring between the train and coach replacement services. Please check the temporary coach replacement timetable before you travel.

Coaches replace Warrnambool Line trains for part of the journey

11 Apr - 20 May 2026

Maintenance and upgrade works will take place along the Warrnambool Line from Saturday 11 April to Friday 24 April.

During this time coaches will replace trains between Wyndham Vale and Warrnambool.

Coaches will continue to replace trains between Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool from Saturday 25 April to Monday 4 May and from Friday 8 May to Wednesday 20 May, while works are completed on a stabling facility at Warrnambool Station. 

Saturday 11 April to Friday 24 April 

Coaches replace trains between Warrnambool and Wyndham Vale. Trains will run between Wyndham Vale and Southern Cross.



Saturday 25 April to Monday 4 May and Friday 8 May to Wednesday 20 May

Coaches replace trains between Warrnambool and Waurn Ponds. Trains will run between Waurn Ponds and Southern Cross.


Trains will run from Tuesday 5 May to Thursday 7 May

Carpark closure at Warrnambool Station

7 Apr - 20 May 2026

Due to Warrnambool Stabling Yard works, the carpark at Warrnambool Station will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 7 April until Wednesday 20 May. 

Accessible parking spaces will still be available on Merri Street at the front of the station. 

Limited parking will be available in the car park on Artillery Cres near the RSL. Off-street parking is also available on Merri Crescent.

Signage and traffic management will be in place at the station.

Level Crossing maintenance works in Little River

11 Apr - 20 Apr 2026

Geelong line

V/Line crews will carry out maintenance works on the Edgar Road level crossing from 6am Saturday 11 April to 6pm Monday 20 April.
 
Works will take place around the clock, and the level crossing will be closed to motorists. The pedestrian crossing will remain open.

During this time, crews will:

• Upgrade the tracks at the level crossing
• Renew the asphalt on the road that runs across the level crossing

 
What to expect

Edgar Road will be closed at the level crossing. Detours and signage will be in place as well as localised traffic management.

Please note that the road detour will take motorists up to 25 minutes so please allow extra time when travelling through the area.

From 8pm to last service – coaches will replace trains from Southern Cross to East Pakenham. Trains will run from East Pakenham to Traralgon.

From Traralgon:
From 7pm to last service – trains will terminate at East Pakenham. Coaches will replace trains from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.

From Bairnsdale:
The 6.16pm Bairnsdale to Southern Cross service will terminate at East Pakenham. Coaches will run from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.
 
Coaches will not stop at Flinders Street, Richmond, Clayton or Berwick stations.

Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

Coaches replace all trains between Southern Cross, Seymour and Shepparton.
